A high-efficiency rectifier for passive UHF RFID with wide incident power range

چکیده
This paper presents a rectifier for passive UHF RFID tags with high power conversion efficiency (PCE) over a wide incident power range under the influence of mismatch between tag antenna and chip, which benefits read and write sensitivities simultaneously. Fabricated with 0.13 μm CMOS technology, the RF frontend adopting this rectifier achieves PCE higher than 25% with incident power from −19.2 dBm to −7.6 dBm.

This paper presents a rectifying antenna (rectenna) for the harvesting of the microwave energy associated to UHF (UltraHigh Frequency) Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) systems. The proposed device uses a capacitively loaded T-shaped monopole with a coplanar waveguide feeding line as receiving antenna and a five-stage voltage multiplier as rectifier. Experimental results demonstrating an RF...

Passive radio frequency identification (RFID) systems deployment efforts are revolutionizing supply chain logistics by providing unprecedented supply chain visibility. The widely used bandwidth of operation in modern systems is the UHF ISM (industrial, scientific, and medical) band. The performance of UHF RFID systems are largely reliant on low power CMOS circuits, efficient power rectification...
متن کاملLinear model of Adapting Frame Size in DFSA of Passive GEN2 RFID systems
Low costs of passive UHF RFID tags, as well as their simplicity makes them appropriate for the localization and tracking services in today’s fast-moving, information rich trading networks. However, a few disadvantages of passive RFID technology performances, as a reading range of passive tags and high collision rate during RFID reader-tag communication, still needs quality of service improvemen...
